I've been haunted by Cleveland lately.  This video is just the latest.

I've never actually been there, but for some unknown reason, it keeps coming up in random conversation.  Ever have that happen?  You don't even think about something for, like, forever, and then all of the sudden, it's everywhere?

That's what Cleveland is like for me these days.  It's eerie.

The description:

The Cleveland Tourism Board gave me 14 million dollars about 8 months ago to make a promotional video to bring people to Cleveland. As usual, I waited till the last minute and I ended up having to shoot and edit it in about an hour yesterday afternoon. I probably should have invested more time.

I actually like the second one better than the first, I think...
So The Cleveland Board of Tourism was not happy with the first video that I turned in. In fact, they said that upon viewing it, three of the board members moved away.

They insisted that I turn in a proper Cleveland tourism video, otherwise they will pursue litigation.

So I was really planning on buckling down and giving it my all this time, but there was a "Rock of Love" marathon on VH1 last night that I didn't want to miss, so I cranked this video out in even less time than the first one. Roughly 35 minutes total.

As I was just saying to Mark, something about stop-motion just brings a smile to my face.  Sort of takes me back to film classes in college, and that playfulness, and the joy of discovering how to do cool tricks... I dunno.  Anyway, as you might have noticed, I'm remarkably fond of stop-motion stuff.

This one is a loverly little wedding invitation... enjoy.

Who wants to be a network head when they grow up...?

This clip comes from a TED talk by digital marketing maven Peter Hirshberg entitled "The Web and TV: A Sibling Rivalry".

Basically, Hirshberg talked to a bunch of "tweeners" to ask about whether they preferred to watch TV or surf the Net.... ummmm.... yeah, what do you think?

This is a re-post from C. Slaughter.  The math and their calculations have changed over time ("2 hours to download" and "5 dollars a minute"), but otherwise they got it quite right.  I guess most other newspapers did not watch television in 1981???

Apparently, over 5 million people know about this already, but this is quite a creative way to use web video.  I could see this improving over time, but even now it has lots of potential for commercial application.  The genius behind this group is Patrick Bovin from Canada.  Here is the list of Interactive videos he has done.  Enjoy!

Since my wife is pregnant, I'm perhaps a bit more susceptible to things infant-esque... but regardless, even non-breeding units will enjoy this very creative time-lapsey piece of stop-motion.

Excellent stop-motion... well... an excellent presentation of stop motion animation.  I particularly love the change in "camera angles" toward the end.
