On his way through Asia, WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg stopped by the HK American Chamber of Commerce to speak with Thomas Crampton about how blogging has changed the world. "Recently named alongside Steve Jobs and the Google founders as BusinessWeek's 25 most influential people on the web in 2009, Matt has lived a classic Silicon Valley story. There are 200 million people per month who read the blogs he helped create. Among them: CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Icelandic rocker Bjork. Starting with a program he wrote on a computer in his mother's kitchen just six years ago, Matt launched a blog platform, Wordpress, which turned into a cultural phenomenon and has now grown to 13 million registered users worldwide. While welcoming anyone to copy, use and adapt his work, Matt nonetheless managed to build a global and profitable company." - from the Hong Kong American Chamber of Commerce The two clips below do not include the Q&A session that followed Matt's opening remarks.
