RTHK is the public broadcasting service of Hong Kong with seven radio channels and three television channels, producing educational, entertainment, and public affairs programmes.
After a thorough (and sometimes scary!) procurement process, APV was chosen from over a dozen companies to create the channel branding and on-air look for RTHK’s new generation of digital channels.
We developed over 60 draft logos during our initial design stage before narrowing down to a shortlist of three. From there, we created a whole suite of on-air assets: a series of idents, templates for programme info, weather, emergency transmissions, lower and upper third straps, date and time bars, seasonal and festive templates for each one. In total, APV delivered over 150 assets plus usage guidelines for each one. (Who needs sleep?!)
RTHK’s new digital channels launched to great fanfare and it is with great pride that we can switch on our TVs and see our branding work every day.
