The Crime and Investigation Network is airing APV's crime documentary The Braemar Hill Murders.

The Braemar Hill Murders
In April 1985, two Western teenagers, Nicola Myers and Kenneth McBride, were found brutally beaten to death in a country park on Hong Kong’s Braemar Hill.  Students at Hong Kong Island School, the teenagers had been studying for their “A-level” examinations when they were set upon by a gang of Chinese youths, who tied Kenneth up and beat him, and raped, beat, and tortured Nicola.

The discovery of the bodies by a jogger set off a massive police manhunt, with more than 300 officers combing the hillside for clues.  Eventually, a HK$500,000 reward was offered for information about the killers, resulting in a police were tip-off about the leader of the youth gang. Five young Chinese men were arrested, ranging in age from 24 to 15 years old; they were tried, found guilty, and the eldest were sentenced to life in prison.
